Hariët the Hedgehog and Finnigan the Fox in a magical woodland setting, illustrating the family values in Woodland Wonder Tales children's books

The Values We Weave Into Every Woodland Wonder Tale

When we sat down to write our first Woodland Wonder Tale, we didn't just want to tell a story. We wanted to tell a story that meant something.

As a homeschooling family, we think a lot about the values we want to nurture in our children — the kind of character traits that will serve them long after the last page is turned. And so, those values found their way into the woodland, into the friendship between a little hedgehog and a fox, and into every adventure they share.

Kindness First, Always

Hariët the Hedgehog leads with her heart. In a world that can sometimes feel rushed and unkind, we wanted our stories to remind children — and the grown-ups reading alongside them — that small acts of kindness make a big difference. Whether it's helping a friend, sharing something precious, or simply listening, kindness is always at the centre of every tale.

True Friendship Looks Like Hariët & Finnigan

A hedgehog and a fox might seem like an unlikely pair, and that's exactly the point. Hariët and Finnigan show children that the best friendships often come from unexpected places. They look out for each other, celebrate each other's differences, and face challenges together. That's the kind of friendship we hope every child experiences.

Curiosity is a Superpower

The woodland is full of wonder — and so is the world. We want children to look at a leaf, a puddle, or a rustling bush and ask why and how and what if. Hariët and Finnigan are endlessly curious, and their curiosity leads them to the most magical discoveries. We believe that nurturing curiosity in children is one of the greatest gifts we can give them.

Courage in Small Moments

Not every act of bravery involves slaying dragons. Sometimes courage looks like trying something new, saying sorry, or standing up for a friend. Our stories celebrate the quiet, everyday courage that children show all the time — and remind them that being brave doesn't mean not being scared.

Family & Belonging

At the heart of every Woodland Wonder Tale is a sense of belonging — the feeling that you are loved, you are valued, and you have a place in this world. Just as our family created these stories together, we hope they become part of your family's story too.

These aren't just books. They're little conversations between the pages and your child's heart.

Thank you for letting us be part of your reading time. 🦔🦊🌿
