Every great story starts somewhere. Ours started in a home full of laughter, animals, and a deep love for the woodland world.

A Family Who Loves Stories

We are a homeschooling family of four, and books have always been at the heart of our days. We read together at breakfast, during quiet afternoons, and especially at bedtime. Stories aren't just entertainment in our home — they're how we learn, grow, and connect as a family.

So when we decided to create our own, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.

The Real Hariët & Finnigan

You might be surprised to learn that Hariët the Hedgehog wasn't entirely made up. Our family has two real, very adorable hedgehogs, and one of our children has a bedroom filled with forest animal friends. Add a mum who has always been enchanted by woodlands, and you have the perfect recipe for a woodland adventure story.

Hariët and Finnigan were born from that love — two unlikely friends whose adventures are rooted in the values we hold dear: kindness, friendship, curiosity, and the lessons that matter most in life.

Why We Write
